Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks

Although Congress created these two parks at different times, Sequoia and Kings Canyon share miles of boundary and are managed as one park. At the heart of the parks, in the shade of towering sequoias and redwood groves, a deer grazes.

In Sequoia National Park, head to the Giant Forest to see the most impressive collection of some of the largest and longest-living trees on Earth.. Named in 1875 by John Muir, the forest is a stand of more than 8,000 colossal sequoia trees – many standing just as Muir found them. Like no other place on Earth, the Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park is alive with mystery and wonder.
