“Societal Distancing” – It’s a play-on-words to the “Social Distancing” term, which of course means staying healthy by creating distance between individual people. My term “Societal Distancing” refers to those of us who feel healthier when we create space between ourselves and society ~ essentially going off-grid for a breather ~ for example, to a National Park.
I created this artwork as a reminder that there are places in the world that still put our minds at ease. A place to listen to the wind, smell the fresh night air, and gaze at the stars. A place where, for at least a little while, the world is as it should be.
